There Is a Girl


I could not write this three days ago. I don’t know what I’m writing about yet…

There’s a girl.

She didn’t just show up in a big way; she talked with me for six hours at our first meeting. Talked on the phone with me for five hours the next time. And then…

I’m not going into that. I can’t talk about it. Nothing would make sense in this current climate anyway. With all the government stuff and job stuff, I’m overwhelmed and am finding it harder and harder to write. Speak. Dance.

I’m paralyzed in some ways. By a girl. Woman, actually, only a few years younger than myself. A runner.

That was one of my “things.” Runner. I don’t think it was about running. It might have been, cause now she’s asked if I want to run with her. WTF?

All of my faculties are in a bit of disarray. I’m going to have to stop this story soon, because I’m running low on blood sugar, oranges, and tequila. That’s all that’s keeping me alive right now. And it’s not great tequila either. But it is 100% agave. I hear that keeps the hangovers at bay.
