shamrock travel

a nap is not part of air travel
but
shouldn’t it be
rent a birth for $30 an hour
get a little rest
find the light at the end of the tunnel
or buy a twenty-dollar cup of coffee and pastry
a bestseller as determined by the local bookseller
how did that poet
get so many meaningless books
into airport concessions
little quips
and sketches
of a very young writer discovering spacing
ellipsis
less
number two on amazon
in love poems
yet there is little love to be found
in mini poem acrobatics
small bites and fun-sized
amaze your friends
i read a book of poetry on the way home
not one phrase or image
will last
maybe give the book away
or leave it in the pocket
as you arrive
