Mindful Motherfucker. Let’s just come out and say it.
I was talking to a friend about my recent year of moving towards mindfulness in my life. “I’ve been writing for a long time, but you know, I’m a mindful motherfucker and I think…”
“Wait a minute,” I said. “That was good. I think I’m going to “tm” that one.”
It’s obvious, I amuse myself. I find my own words funny, pointed, and intelligent. I also delude myself.
Here’s the idea behind my sticker.
Be MINDFUL. Practice mindfulness and kindness at all points in your journey. THEN, if someone fks with your serenity, blast them. There is no time to suffer idiots, assholes, or tyrants. The message is a dichotomy.
Be MINDFUL and when someone messes with your peace, be a badass in defending and resetting your peace.
Again, this sticker was a whim. But as I’ve been living with it on the back of my car, and as part of my narrative, I’ve been learning what it means to me. And I’ve found that either someone GETS the sticker or is OFFENDED. That tells me all I need to know.
Final note: on vacation last week I was pulled over for speeding in a small hick town in Texas. The policeman took my licence and sat in his car for a bit. When he came back to the car he asked, “What does the heart sticker mean?”
BOOM.
I still got the ticket.
What do you think about my sticker and my inflated opinion of myself?
Let’s talk about your plan.
