Second Date
We met at the Town Lake Trail and walked a quick three-miles. It was a “hello date” from OK Cupid. She was tall, thin, maybe too thin, but worth exploring further.
A few nights later we were making plans to watch a movie together. She was going to spend the night. We discussed not having sex, just having some cuddle time. That’s what most people want, it some physical contact. It doesn’t have to be sex.
Something came up. She had to cancel at about 9:30 pm. I was sort of excited about the idea. The next day she said, “Sorry about last night, but it was a good thing I didn’t come over. I had a gusher. Would’ve bled all over your bed.”
Dating is not all it’s cracked up to be. Sometimes you want something simple. Not all the time. But sometimes.
