striking sparks together – a poem

striking sparks together – a poem

i am welcoming the winter
and dark early evenings
and even the ache of loneliness
as a bedfellow
is a bitter tonic
but i rise stronger
every morning
i wake with a fury
at the loss and lack
and i seek your image
an idea
a ghost
of who you might be
where you too are alone
and how the evenings
are a bit chillier
perhaps snowy
and mountainous
on some days i see you
a glimpse of my desire
fueled by a passing muse
and i let my heart
spin its yarn
babble of syllables
and sentiments of desire
and i am comforted
by my own
fingers
typing
longing
keying up the dream
of you
where
you are now
