curve of you – a poem

curve of you – a poem

there is a curve of you i adore
a smile and wrinkle and twinkle
in your eyes when you look at me
kiss me, kiss on me, kiss in me
i ache for your skin when i’m here
by myself
i remember and smell the essence
in a towel or bedsheet
and my mind adrift
opens towards you
wherever you are
a cupping of your breast
in my hand falling asleep
wrapped around
big-spoon little-spoon
you said
talking in your sleep
beside me
i can hear
what i need to hear
in your gentle breathing
a fingertip rested against your thigh
contact
flight
fantasy
but you are no dream
arriving lately
staying strongly
loving hard and fast
with an abandon
that frightens and excites me
each time we entwine
each time i open you up
and take you out on the nighttime
winding road
